Is the Weight Biology Kit for Me?

Thinking about trying the Weight Biology Kit? In this article, we’ll walk you through qualifications you should screen for to make sure it’s right for you.

While there are no restrictions on who can or can not purchase or benefit from using a Weight Biology Kit, we put together some easy guidelines to help you identify whether the Weight Biology Kit is right for you. We would consider you the ideal patient for the Weight Biology Kit if:

You’re someone who has struggled with their weight

The Weight Biology Kit tests eight key biomarkers (Fasting Insulin, Fasting Glucose, % Hemoglobin A1C, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Vitamin B12, HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, and Triglycerides) to help patients determine whether or not there are biological roadblocks impacting their metabolism and making it difficult for them to manage their weight. Metabolic conditions are not isolated to those with overweight or obese BMIs, although, because they are often so closely linked, they are more likely. While we certainly welcome those folks with healthy BMIs to order and try the Weight Biology Kit, it is likely to be most useful for those folks who have previously struggled to manage their weight or who have a family history of metabolic conditions like type 2 diabetes.

We also like to prepare all of our customers for the chance that the labs they receive come back as statistically ‘normal’ — meaning, they may not necessarily provide the black and white answers that they were looking for. If your labs do come back ‘normal’ but you’re still struggling to lose weight, we will provide you with literature and information on next steps you can take.

You’re someone who is curious about their metabolic health

Whether or not you’ve struggled with weight management, getting familiar with your metabolic health can help you learn about your body, your eating habits, your sleeping patterns, and more.

At your annual physical, they may test you for some of the biomarkers that we test for in the Weight Biology Kit. While annual physicals are a great way to check in on your overall health, metabolic conditions can appear in a matter of months and it’s never a bad idea to stay up to date on your health. In the Weight Biology Kit we also test uncommon biomarkers like Fasting Insulin and Fasting Glucose that you’re unlikely to ever be tested for.

You’re someone who is making a lifestyle change and wants to monitor the impact

Changing your diet? Being treated for medical issues? Considering other lifestyles changes? The Weight Biology Report is a great way for you to measure the impact that these changes can have on your metabolic health over time. Use the Weight Biology Kit before, during, or after making a lifestyle change to monitor how they improve your biomarkers and overall health.

You’re someone who hasn’t had their annual checkup

With COVID-19 keeping people from venturing out for their annual check-up, it’s more important than ever to make sure you prioritize checking in on your health. With the Weight Biology Kit you can take your sample in the comfort of your own home and we’ll run the labs you need to determine whether you’re metabolically healthy.

You’re someone who wants to use the Weight Biology Kit to support an existing practice or business

If you’re a practitioner like a nutritionist, dietician, health coach, etc, you can use the Weight Biology Kit to give you and your patients a deep understanding of their metabolic health that you can use as a first step towards administering care and providing weight loss solutions. Use your patient’s labs as a benchmark to recommend treatment or to track their progress on your program over time. At the same time, you can avoid the headache of negotiating with primary care offices to get your patients the testing they need without the headache of the excessive documentation, bureaucracy, and other barriers that are standard in the healthcare industry.

I saw this product on NBC tonight. I have a granddaughter, age 9, who is
severely obese. Is she too young to be tested?

I already know I have insulin resistance. I am on Soliqua and Ezemtibe which has lowered my A1C to 6.5 but I am unable to lose weight. I need a program to lose weight.
